Pedestrian In Critical Condition After Being Struck By Vehicle In Shelton

An 83-year-old man was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross a street in Shelton.

The incident took place around 5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, when Shelton Police, Fire and EMS responded to the area of Howe Avenue and Grove Street for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle, said Shelton Police Det. Richard Bango.

The Shelton resident was transported from the scene to Bridgeport Hospital and was reported to be in critical condition, Bango said.

The 68-year-old male driver from Shelton remained on scene after the accident, he added.

The Shelton Traffic Division is investigating the accident. No enforcement has been taken at this time while the accident is still under investigation.
